Wood charcoal is produced by pyrolysis of birch wood in an industrial retort-type charcoal kiln with afterburning of pyrolysis gases generated during production. The applied technology ensures an environmentally friendly process, stable product quality, and high thermal performance of the charcoal.
The production process is continuous and includes the following stages:
- preparation of raw material — birch logs stacked in special retort cassettes;
- wood drying in the kiln drying chamber at a temperature of 200–300 °C;
- wood pyrolysis in the kiln working chamber at a temperature of 650–750 °C.
Applications
Wood charcoal is used for:
- household and professional food preparation (charcoal grills, BBQ, HoReCa);
- heating and industrial process needs;
- metallurgical and blacksmithing operations;
- chemical and industrial processing;
- use as an environmentally friendly solid fuel.
